Discussing summarization/deletion
Hi Babakathy! I opened a discussion at Talk:France about the article's size, just as you had suggested me, but it has been pretty much ignored, it didn't draw any kind of comments so far (not even negative ones). This was somewhat expected, so I'm considering the possibility of going ahead with the summarization, even though the discussion isn't going anywhere, because the alternative seems to be doing nothing at all (again). If you want to leave a few comments/suggestions on how to work on that article to get it to an acceptable size, that would be great. Cheers!--eh bien mon prince (talk) 17:46, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
UDI
Hi David, this is just a quick note to let you know that I've just nominated the Rhodesian UDI article at FAC. I'd be interested to get input from you on this one if you are interested and able to spare a few moments. The review is here if you would like to take part. Thanks, I hope you are well, and all the very best. —Cliftonian (talk) 07:34, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

IP's edits reverted by you
Hi Babakathy. I see you reverted two edits by User:IP 64.134.231.172 on Battle of Cuito Cuanavale. The damage he did there is nothing compared to the damage he did at Portuguese Angolans. I don't know how to use special 'tools' - I can revert recent edits, but i have seen some people revert a whole series of edits in one fell swoop. If you can't, I will find the time to try and sort out this blatant racist's edits on this page/. Regards, Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 15:03, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hello. I've checked and the racist edits were already reverted [1] by Doger67. Thanks. Babakathy (talk) 06:35, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Matobo National Park, or when is a cemetery not a cemetery?
Granted that it isn't called a cemetery, however it is the burial place of a number of figures from the founding of white Rhodesia
Quoting from the article
Cecil Rhodes, Leander Starr Jameson, and several other leading early white settlers, including Allan Wilson and all the members of the Shangani Patrol killed in the First Matabele War, are buried on the summit of Malindidzimu, the 'hill of the spirits' -- this is a great source of controversy in modern Zimbabwe as this is considered a sacred place by nationalists and indigenous groups.[26][27] This mount is also referred to as the World’s View. (Not to be confused with the World's View, Nyanga).
So, is it a cemetery of a kind? Perhaps if all these figures are buried together in some sort of monument, that shared burial site could have its own article and listed in the cemetery cat?
Sincerely, Jonathan--Bellerophon5685 (talk) 22:36, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- Jonathan - your last point is correct. The national park is some 400 square km, the monument site maybe 1 square km. If the monument had its own article it would be a cemetery, but the park as a whole is not. Babakathy (talk) 06:16, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

Smith
Hello David, how are you? I hope you are well. This is just a note to let you know I have redone the Ian Smith article, which is now at FAC here. If you have the time, I would very much appreciate any thoughts you may have on it. Thanks, and have a great weekend =) —Cliftonian (talk) 12:04, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
Hello David ! Do you have any interest in expanding this article? I could add information concerning the mine, and the mine operator, if you (or some other interested party) could balance that out with information about the people and the immediate area. Gulbenk (talk) 02:31, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Mm3 or million cubic meters
Hello, I've run into several articles where you've used the notation Mm3 for water volume in dams. Based on Litre#SI prefixes applied to the litre, that's a cubic megameter or a cube 1,000 km on a side. I've changed several to MCM (million cubic meters) which I think is what is intended, but as I see from your user page you are a professional in the field, I'd like to check with you before I do any more. Thank you. SchreiberBike | ⌨ 02:40, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

Contests
User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October.
